Dannii Minogue is in the UK for talks about her future on The X Factor

Dannii Minogue was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery at the weekend after suffering crippling stomach pains.

The X Factor judge was diagnosed with acute appendicitis - caused by an inflammation of the appendix - and went under the knife just 2 hours after arriving at a West London hospital.

'Dannii was taken into hospital on Saturday with pains in her stomach,' her spokesman confirms.

'She was diagnosed with acute appendicitis and had an emergency operation to remove her appendix.

'She is now convalescing.'

After spending the week under round-the-clock care, Dannii, 39, was discharged yesterday and is recovering with partner Kris Smith, 32, and 9-month-old baby son Ethan by her side.
