Boo! "Don't Say Gay" Bill Has Been Passed

So much for progress.

This afternoon, State Sen. Stacey Campfield's proposed "Don't Say Gay" bill passed before the Tennessee senate. With a 20-10 vote, the bill prohibits educators from discussing homosexuality in kindergarten through 8th grade classrooms.

Sen. Campfield said the bill is necessary because homosexuality is a ?learned behavior.?

We can only think of one real learned behavior that should have a bill passed opposing its teaching - ignorance.

We're very disappointed to hear this news and even more so to think about the gay kids of Tennessee who will be brought up to think something is wrong with them because homosexuality is forbidden to speak of in their schools. Their voices deserve to be heard too and to silence them like this ? Shameful!
