'Inbetweeners' star Blake Harrison has revealed he and his castmates snubbed the wild nightlife in Malia when they were filming their new movie on the Greek island of Crete.

Blake Harrison has revealed the 'Inbetweeners' cast spent their free time in restaurants while shooting their upcoming movie.

Unlike their immature onscreen personas, Simon Bird, Blake Harrison, Joe Thomas and James Buckley opted for sampling the local cuisine and wine over wild partying while filming scenes in Malia on the Greek island of Crete.

Blake - who portrays slow-witted teenager Neil Sutherland in the movie and previous TV series - revealed: "We had a lovely time but the thing is, our idea of a good time is going into a bar and ordering tapas and drinking red wine. That was about as mental as it got."

However, James - who plays foul-mouthed Jay Cartwright - still has a lot to learn about appreciating fine wine and gave his co-stars a big laugh when he unwittingly tried to chill a bottle of red, which is best drunk at room temperature.

Joe told BANG Showbiz: "There was a funny moment when James Buckley stuck a merlot in a chiller. What an idiot!"

The foursome have been filming since January and Simon has revealed there are only a few scenes left to shoot for the project - which is due to be released in August.

Simon - who plays geeky Will McKenzie - said: "We're filming some more scenes in a couple of weeks time, but it's mostly done."
