Kate Hudson prefers calling her fianc� her 'baby daddy'

Kate Hudson and Matthew Bellamy are awaiting the arrival of their first child together.

Kate Hudson and Matthew Bellamy recently became engaged, but people shouldn't stop referring to the musician as just her (soon-to-be) baby daddy.

In fact, the actress admitted she actually prefers that terminology.

"It's weird to say 'fianc�' to me," she said on Thursday's "Live with Regis and Kelly."

"I like 'baby daddy,'" she continued. 'He'll be 'baby daddy' until he's 'hubby.'"

Hudson, 32, revealed on the "Today" show last week that Bellamy, also 32, had proposed.

"Live" co-host Kelly Ripa gushed over the "Something Borrowed" star's "big, fat diamond" ring, and Hudson later revealed that Ripa played a role in the romance.

Ripa, a fan of Bellamy's band Muse, voiced her approval of the relationship soon after she and Hudson first met.

"Kelly kind of gave me the wink and said, 'I like this guy for you," Hudson recalled.

All these months later, Hudson and Bellamy are settling in for a long life together ? and it may involve even more siblings for her 7-year-old son, Ryder.

"Hopefully this is the first of a few," she said. "We'll see."
