Brigitte Nielsen: I had an affair with Schwarzenegger

Brigitte Nielsen says she was unaware of Maria Shriver while dating Arnold Schwarzenegger.

LOS ANGELES - Actress Brigitte Nielsen claims she had a torrid affair with Arnold Schwarzenegger while he was dating Maria Shriver in 1985 - but she's the one who felt betrayed.

The lusty liaison took place on the set of "Red Sonja," a sword-wielding fantasy flick shot in the foothills of central Italy, she told the Daily Mail.

Schwarzenegger was already involved with Shriver, the Kennedy heiress who would become his wife a year later.

"How serious it was...I don't know," Nielsen told the Mail.

"He never spoke about her, and the way he was living his life with me, I felt I was the only one. Then I realized about him and Maria and, wow, I felt cheated."

She was just 22 at the time and said she believed her strapping 38-year-old co-star loved her.

"Maybe I wouldn't have got into it if he said, 'I'm going to marry Maria and this is dead serious.' But he didn't, and our affair carried on," the Danish diva said.

The former Mrs. Sly Stallone, now 47, said she was shocked by Schwarzenegger's recent admission he fathered a love child with a maid and kept the boy a secret for 14 years.

"It breaks my heart because he and Maria have four kids, and you don't just have a baby with someone else. I'm surprised Arnold thought he could get away with it and I feel bad for Maria," she said.
